The European launched its web site this week; it claims to be the world’s first complete on-line newspaper, although only paying subscribers can access the whole site. This is probably the best place to go for information on European news, politics, business and sport. But, non-subscribers will have to be satisfied with very short summaries. It costs £52 a year to subscribe to the service.

The site is well spaced out and easy to navigate, despite the fact that all the information is set on the left hand-side of the screen; a print publication would never leave half the page blank.

Eurosceptics should steer clear, Euromaniacs should sign up; this site is really only worth visiting regularly if you are a subscriber.
