Photo Technique Goes Monthly
IPC’s photography title Photo Technique will turn into a monthly title in May. It first launched in 1993 as a quarterly and went bi-monthly in 1994.
IPC say that the move is in response to requests from advertisers and readers. The format of the title will remain the same and the June issue will carry a free 112-page covermounted photography pocketbook.
The photography market has not been performing particularly well lately and IPC is obviously keen to try and improve Photo Technique‘s performance by moving it into the monthly market which is dominated by EMAP with its Photo Answers and Practical Photography titles. As the table below shows however, IPC may also be looking to exploit the apparent weakness of Photo Answers which lost almost 7,000 sales in the last ABC release.
