Essex Gets New Radio Station

Essex Gets New Radio Station

The Radio Authority is advertising a new FM Independent Local Radio licence to serve a part of Essex. The coverage will be contained primarily within the local authority areas of Basildon, Brentwood, Chelmsford and Braintree. Although, it will not be possible, within the frequency resources available, for this licence to serve the entire area, applicants will have to indicate which area they aim to cover. The licence runs for 8 years, from the air-date.

When considering the application, the Authority will be taking into account how applicants propose to cater for the tastes and interests of listeners. The winning applicant will be announced towards the end of the year.
