ITC Appoints New Members

ITC Appoints New Members

The ITC has appointed 5 new members to its Advertising Advisory Committee. The new members are:

Stephen Carter, managing director of J Walter Thompson; he will be representing the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, IPA.

Stewart Butterfield, sales and marketing director of Channel 4, has been appointed in his capacity as chairman of the Broadcast Advertising Clearance Centre Copy Committee.

Ray Blaney, head of commercial operations and compliance for UK Gold and UK Living; he will be working on behalf of the Satellite and Cable ITC Licensees Compliance Forum.

Benet Middleton, senior policy officer at Consumers’ Association; will be representing the Consumers’ Association.

Alan Street, chief executive of the Institute of Trading Standards Administration; will be representing the ITSA.

These appointments have immediate effect and are for a period of two years. The appointees replace committee members whose terms had ended.

The ITC has also confirmed the reappointment of the AAC chairman, Professor Colin Seymour-Ure of the University of Canterbury, Professor Jack Howell representing the BMA, Paul Curtis representing the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers and Sheila Kelly representing the Proprietary Association of Great Britain.
