Future Opportunities For New Recruits
Future Publishing has launched an innovative training programme for budding journalists. The training initiative, nick-named the Brat Pack, has been developed to ensure that new recruits gain insight and experience into the magazine industry by working across the company’s broad range of magazine titles.
Future has already taken on 11 people for the scheme, they have no previous journalism experience. These first eleven will help staff the existing titles and prepare for new launches. The Brat Pack will be looking to take on new employees about every 18 months.
Future’s development editor, Nick Gibbs said: “We’ve been looking for anyone with a passion for journalism.”
The training initiative aims to produce a pool of magazine writers and production staff who will find their niche in the magazine market. It is hoped that this will compliment the specialist journalists and, in turn, be a sound investment for the future of Future.
