Wired Short Circuits
The plug has been pulled on the British version of Wired Magazine. The title is being scrapped after less than two years on the news-stands.
Wired broke off from its launch partner, Guardian Media Group, in 1995 and has been struggling ever since. The UK and Japanese editions of the magazine recorded losses of £2 million last year.
Despite approaches to various companies, including Conde Nast, who have a 10% share in Wired Ventures, nobody volunteered to rescue the title.
