The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has put BSkyB’s bid for Manchester United (see Manchester Utd Board Accepts £625m Offer From Sky) into extra time following a flood of complaints from fans, it has emerged.
After receiving 350 responses from fans and shareholders, the OFT has extended its review by 15 working days to give the offer extra consideration.
An OFT spokesman said: “Three hundred and fifty responses is an unusually high number, there is no doubt about it.”
