BBC Magazines today launched a new magazine for 6-10 year olds, called BBC SMart, which is closely tied in with the art and design-based BBC television programme. The monthly title will sell at £1.50.
Gillian Laskier, director of BBC Worldwide’s Family Publishing Group, says: “In these days of high tech computer technology, we believe children still love creative activities which get their hands dirty – and sticky and messy. The launch of SMart magazine will give young people even more ideas for creativity and develop skills and interests which will stay with them throughout their lives.”
