Bauer media to launch new digital radio stations

KISSFRESH

In what has been described as a ‘landmark move’ for the company, Bauer media will next week launch two new digital radio stations – KissFresh and Kisstory.

Set to launch on 7 May and across multiple platforms – mobile, desktop, tablet and Freeview – KissFresh will promote new genres and artists, while Kisstory will offer ‘old-skool’ music and ‘anthems’.

In addition to the introduction of these channels, Bauer has invested a six-figure sum into its new KissKube app for iOS – available for Android and Blackberry later on in the year.

The app will launch in May and will enable users to listen live to Kiss FM, Kisstory and KissFresh. Other app features will allow users to download shows for offline listening; get the latest KISS FM news, videos, competitions and social updates; and share KissKube content via email and social networking sites.

“Kiss was born as a dance radio station at a time when genres were very specific but fast forward to the present day and the evolution of music is so wide that one Kiss station alone cannot deliver everything,” said Steve Parkinson, MD Bauer Radio London.

The latest RAJAR figures showed that KISS UK reaches 4.4m listeners, up 2.1% year on year.
