The European Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association has warned against the risk of the creation of a copyright monopoly, which it says would only benefit copyright holders. It is concerned that the draft EU Copyright Directive would restrict the use of electronic media by students and teachers. It has called on the EP and the Council to avoid giving content providers complete control over content.
