As the launch of ITV’s new digital TV channel (see Newsline), ITV2 approaches, the company has said that it is not planning to have a separate airtime sales house for the service. Instead it intends to set up a sales committee comprising representatives from each of ITV’s three sales houses, TSMS, Carlton Sales and Laser.
Each house will sell airtime to different agencies, but deals must be approved by the committee.
ITV2 is planned for launch in early December, and the ITV Network is still refusing to allow its channels to be carried by BSkyB’s digital satellite service (see Newsline).
