New panellists announced for Connected Consumer Conference

Connected Consumer Awards

The panellists for this year’s Connected Consumer Conference – an unmissable two day event of hands-on demonstrations and lively debates – have been announced.

Following a day playing with the latest technology at Decipher’s iBurbia studios on June 18, Newsline columnist Raymond Snoddy and former BBC media correspondent Torin Douglas will chair a series of debates on June 19 at Nomura’s central London offices, with industry experts lined up to discuss the biggest topics in the field.

SapientNitro’s Michael Bayler and ITV’s Jon Block will start the second day as they focus on how we define a connected consumer, whether video is taking over TV and whether we too often forget the traditional part of the connected consumer’s purchase journey.

The second session will see Decipher’s Nigel Walley, BSkyB’s Jamie West and Channel 4’s Jonathan Allan take to the stage to debate business models and platforms – changes we should expect to see in the screen landscape, the imminent launch of AdSmart and whether the current market is just too crowded.

The third session – Social, TV and other second screen activities – will consist of Dijit Media’s Jeremy Toeman, Channel 5’s Nick Bampton and Nick Adams of Mindshare, who will be sharing their views on subjects including Twitter, engagement and the changes in consumer viewing habits.

And last, but by no means least, BARB CEO Justin Sampson, Richard Marks of Research the Media, UKOM’s James Smythe and Videology’s Catherine Hallam will round off the day by giving insight into metrics and data.

The panellists will discuss where Google is with its plans to define metrics across all devices, whether anyone has worked out how to use social TV numbers yet, and just who exactly is using OCR – and how?

Visit our events page for more information on the event – it’s set to be a good one.

Immediately after the panel sessions MediaTel will also be hosting its very first Connected Consumer Awards – The ‘Connies’ – hosted by Torin Douglas and Graham Lovelace, where guests will be invited to celebrate the very best from the connected industry with a drinks reception.
