Scottish Radio Group Announces 17% Increase In Turnover

Scottish Radio Holdings has released its preliminary financial results for the year ending 30 September 1998, revealing a 17% increase in turnover, taking it up to £43.8 million for the year.

Pre-tax profit rose 30% to £12.5 million, and earnings per share are at 29p, a rise of 26%.

The group intends to apply for local digital radio multiplex licences to be advertised by the Radio Authority in Febuary of next year, and sees it as a possibility for future growth of the group.

Lord Gordon of Strathblane, chairman of the group, was pleased with the results: “It is a pleasure to be able to report once again a continuation of the company’s strong growth, with new records again achieved in turnover. Group advertising bookings for the first two months of the financial year, October and November, are up by 8% giving us a good start to the new financial year.”
