It is understood that the US-based satellite network E! Entertainment is in negotiations to launch a UK channel.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that BSkyB is one of the contenders for the venture; a spokeperson today commented that BSkyB is “looking for the best possible lineup.”
BSkyB has recently clinched a deal with Channel 4 to carry the new Film Four channel on its digital service (see Newsline), and has also secured exclusive rights to broadcast MTV in the first year of its digital service (see Newsline).
