Internal Changes At The Guardian And The Observer

The Guardian and The Observer have set up an Integrated Solutions Unit (ISU) to offer advertisers cross media sales opportunities. Headed by Mary O’Hara, the unit will incorporate the sponsorship department, opportunities on the Guardian Unlimited internet sites, and database marketing.

The advertisement department has also seen some new appointments…

Chris Pelakanou and Adam Freeman have been promoted to agency sales managers, and will be responsible for the day to day running of the agency sales team.

Penny Stokes adopts a new role as the head of agency strategy and development – and is in charge of managing the launch of new products on the agency side – and Nick Gillett is promoted to internet sales manager, responsible for both sponsorship and banner advertising.

All the new appointments are effective immediately, and Carolyn McCall, commercial director of Guardian Newspapers, said today: “We have had a tremendous year on The Guardian and The Observer and these appointments reflect the further business needs of the markets we work in. I am delighted to draw on the depth of talent and experience in the department to ensure our continued commercial success.”
