Radio Authority Advertises Scottish Local Radio Licences

This week the Radio Authority is advertising small scale local FM radio licences for Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Small-scale coverage will be within the unitary authority areas of North Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire. Each licence will be for eight years from the start of broadcasting, and the closing date for applications is 8 December 1998.

The Authority will be assessing applications in regard to the tastes and interests of listeners in the area, and would welcome public opinion, which can be sent to:

…The beginning of the week saw the release of the Radio Authority’s 1998 Pocket Book, which is a directory to Commercial Radio in the UK. The publication includes details of frequencies, air dates and cable and satellite providers as well as the Authority’s future plans and contacts for comments and complaints.
