Rapide Launches New Playstation Mag
Rapide Publishing, specialists in the computer and games console market, is set to launch another Playstation magazine next month called Station. The unofficial games console title claims to be the biggest launch of its kind with an initial print run of 400,000 copies.
Editor Dave Perry says that Station differs from Rapide’s existing portfolio of Playstation titles as it targets an older audience (18+) and shifts the emphasis from gaming to lifestyle. Perry says that it is the first unofficial Playstation magazine to have a covermounted demo disc every month.
The launch is to be accompanied by a £50,000 promotional campaign across TV, radio, the tabloid press and other consumer magazines. Station is priced £3.95 and has 132 pages.
