Despite recent negative forecasts from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, BSkyB is expected to announce a £100 million rise in pre-tax profits next week when its full year results are released.

According to city analysts, BSkyB could reveal profits of £1.32 billion.

BSkyB is currently caught up in an ongoing battle with rival BT over sports offerings. BSkyB announced in June that it would be cutting the price of its broadband packages ahead of BT’s offer of free Premier League matches for to all broadband consumers.
