IPC Lads Go Abroad
Reports have emerged this week that IPC is planning to launch its popular laddish monthly Loaded overseas.
Although IPC would not specify exactly which countries it would be targeting, it did indicate that English-speaking and European countries were being considered for launches, presumably meaning Australia and the US are potential targets. Property director at IPC, Rebecca Miskin, told Newsline this afternoon: “The ethos and format of the magazine will remain unchanged, but obviously content is sensitive to the local readership so may differ across editions.”
The title recently appointed a new publisher in the form of Adrian Pettett (see Newsline), and launched its own fashion title, Loaded Fashion in late august (see Newsline). The title is one of the most popular in its sector, second only to FHM. The latest ABC figures showed an increase of 20% in its circulation, giving it a readership of over 450,000 (see Newsline), and with international launches in the pipeline its success looks set to continue.
