Computer Magazine Activates Advertising
Computeractive, the computer title launched earlier this year by VNU (see Newsline) announced today that it is to launch a £1.2 million television campaign to further its market lead. On-magazine promotions will also be used, and the 16th issue will retail at 50p to encourage further sampling amongst readers.
Juliet Parker, Computeractive publisher, commented: “This new marketing campaign is targeted to capitalise on the influx of new readers coming into the market at this time of the year, and we now intend to build on our strengths and take Computeractive even further ahead of the market.”
The title’s last advertising campaign prompted a surge of complaints to the ITC, from over 200 viewers claiming the ad contained inappropriate imagery for television advertising (see Newsline), and presumably Computeractive has borne this in mind in the creation of its new campaign.
