The Future Is Ginger
The Ginger Media Group has released its annual financial results, which show a turnover of £40.4 million, and operating profit of £10.5 million for the year ending 31 July 1998. Virgin Radio increased gross turnover by 38% and operating profit by 75%; Ginger Television increased gross turnover by 14% and operating profit by 35%. Last Wednesday Models Uncut was broadcast, and was the first project by Ginger Television not to be fronted by Chris Evans.
On 5 October Evans will go down as a first in history when his breakfast show on Virgin Radio will be broadcast simultaneously on television and radio, airing live on Sky One between 7:30 and 8:30am (see Newsline).
The group also hopes to broaden its production base in the future and ‘is committed to building on its established position in innovative entertainment programming.’
