Trinity has said that it is no longer in merger negotiations with Mirror Group (see Mirror Shares Jump On Takeover Talk). Whilst the talks were only at an exploratory stage, it is believed that Trinity did not wish to compete with Axel Springer for control of the group.
Mirror Group has said that it will make an announcement regarding the Springer move once the company’s intentions have been confirmed.
