BBC Worldwide and Kelsey Media have agreed a magazine licensing deal that will see the launch of the first BBC Antiques Roadshow Magazine next spring.

The monthly magazine will feature stories that the programme tells, alongside others that are not broadcast – with an On Location section, behind the scenes at venues, meet the team features, stories from people on the show and follow-ups.

The magazine will theme issues by era, event and genre, and will also have its own website.

“The birth of a new BBC magazine is always exciting and this one is going to be very special,” said BBC Worldwide’s director of publishing, Nicholas Brett.

“Antiques Roadshow is one of the most loved BBC programmes with a huge, passionate and knowledgeable fan-base. We’re confident Kelsey will make them a magazine they’ll love and value.”

Mandy Thwaites, managing director of Kelsey Media said that the company is delighted to have won the licence, and hopes that the magazine will be the first of many that Kelsey and BBC Worldwide can make together.

The Antiques Roadshow is a hugely popular programme for the BBC and in August secured 5.68 million viewers for one hour-long show, according to BARB.
