The Sun on Sunday raises its cover price

The Sun on Sunday, which last weekend underwent a name change and gained a new editor, is to raise its cover price by 10p.

Now retailing for 70p, it is still cheaper than rivals the Sunday Mirror and Sunday People – which, as of last week, both sell for £1.10.

Sunday Mirror is also set to unveil a new look this weekend, with a new brand campaign to help promote the changes.

Sun+, the online platform for the News UK title, last month began charging for content, building a paywall that will cost users £2 per week and includes Premier League football highlights.

The number of monthly visits to Sun+ in the first month after it placed content behind the paywall are estimated to have fallen by more than 60%

Figures from SimilarWeb, a web metrics company, suggest that global visits to the site dropped from 37.3 million in July to an 14.4 million in August.
