Local newspaper publisher Newsquest today announced pre-tax profits of £17.3 million for the three months to April 5, up from £9m the previous year. Turnover rose from £71m to £79.5m.
Classified ad revenue rose from £40.5m to £45.8m while display ad revenue went up from £18.8m to £19m. Circulation revenue rose from £10m to £10.1m.
