Nokia has unveiled its first Windows tablet, alongside a range of other new devices.
The Lumia 2520 – which runs on Windows RT 8.1 – is designed to work anywhere and at any time, with a 10.1 inch HD display that has been designed to provide the ‘best outdoor and indoor readability’ of any tablet.
In an attempt to ‘redefine’ smartphone innovation, the company has also introduced its first ever large-screen Lumia smartphones. The six-inch screen ‘phablets’ offer a 20 megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation, and a number of photo and video programmes.
The larger format offers a new column of live tiles for ‘easier and faster’ access to apps and experiences, while the Nokia Power Keyboard offers five extra hours of battery life. A fully functional keypad with gesture trackpad has been designed to simulate the feel of typing on a laptop.
“Now more than ever, mobile devices are at the centre of consumers’ lives as they look to capture, curate and share experiences on the go,” said Stephen Elop, executive vice president, devices & services at Nokia.
“With our latest range of Lumia and Asha products, we’re delivering industry leading design and imaging innovation to bigger devices at more accessible prices. The quality and value that Nokia products deliver continues to grow as we partner with developers to introduce app experiences that are unique to Lumia and Windows Phone.”
