Wilson Retires From Mirror
The Mirror Group today said that Charles Wilson has now stepped down from his position as managing director.
Group chief executive David Montgomery said: “Charlie has had a remarkable career as a senior journalist and newspaper manager. The Mirror Group owes him a great debt for his loyal service and role in modernising the company.”
Wilson’s departure means that Kelvin MacKenzie now becomes deputy chief executive and group managing director (subscribers see MacKenzie Given Top Job At Mirror). He will report to chief executive David Montgomery.
The Mirror Group has also announced the appointment of a new non-executive chairman at its Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail division.
Sir Angus Grossart, chairman of Scottish merchant bank Noble Grossart, will take on the role. The appointment follows the resignation of Liam Kane as managing director of the Scottish papers.
