Profits Rise To £9.9m At Southern
Southern Newspapers has released interim financial results for the second-half of the year which show an increase in pre-tax profits from £8.2 million to £9.9 million. Turnover increased from £47.3m to £59.5m.
Recruitment, property and national advertising all experienced growth, with ad revenue increasing by 26%. The rise included sales from its South Wales newspapers, which were bought from United News & Media in 1996 (subscribers see United News & Media Sell Welsh Titles).
At 3:13pm Southern’s shares had risen 32.5p to 796p.
