Classic FM Suffers From Sales Upheaval

GWR has announced that profits at its national commercial station Classic FM have not been as strong as expected in the second half of the year.

The Group said that the reason for this was the “substantial changes” which were made to the Classic sales team when it was transformed into the new sales house Opus (subscribers see Opus Gets Ready For Launch). The year end trading update was keen to point out that since Opus’s creation in the New Year the station’s ad revenues had recovered strongly.

At 4:09pm the Group’s shares had dropped 14p to 178.5p
