Report Shows Viewers Back Masthead TV
Research released by the PPA shows that viewers welcome masthead programmes and want to see more of them in the UK, including on terrestrial channels.
The research, conducted by Hall Test, suggests that masthead programmes maintain editorial standards and integrity – 93% would expect a programme based on a magazine to be as accurate as any other programme.
80% of respondents said they are not concerned by the name of a magazine in a programme’s title, and 81% said they would probably watch a programme based on their favourite magazine. Viewers also want the chance to watch masthead television on all channels – more than two thirds of respondents said they would welcome this development.
