Channel 5 will be running a dedicated science-fiction weekend on April 4th and 5th. The event is to be sponsored by Columbia’s Men In Black film, which is released four days later on video.
Highlights include Steven Spielberg’s director’s cut of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jeff Bridges in Starman, a specially themed Mag and a special on the making of Men In Black.
C5 said it had been looking at opportunities for a science-fiction weekend for some time, when the opportunity arose to tie-in with the retail release date for Men In Black. Tailor-made bumper breaks will also be present.
