Chris Oakley, a board director of Mirror Group, will be leaving the company to join the Yorkshire Post Group as chief executive. Oakley was responsible for Mirror’s regional and Scottish newspaper operations.
The Yorkshire Post Group was previously owned by United News & Media before being bought by Candover as part of United Provincial Newspapers (subscribers see United Sells Northern Newspapers).
John Allwood, currently finance director, is to take over Oakley’s duties while a new finance director has not yet been announced.
