CES 2014: Samsung unveils curved TV

Samsung has unveiled a 105-inch curved TV with a remote-controlled adjustable screen.

First showcased at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the LED Bendable TV has been designed to enhance the overall viewing experience.

The curvature of the screen – which might have been big enough to scare Michael Bay off stage – is able to be altered by a remote control, delivering ultra-HD content to viewers.

Rival manufacturer LG also announced the launch of an ultra-HD 105-inch curved TV.

“In 2014 Samsung will drive industry growth through tremendous innovation in UHD picture quality, breakthrough design and consumer choice,” said Guy Kinnell, head of TV and AV, Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland.

“The combination of our curved design and UHD picture quality creates the ultimate immersive entertainment experience for people passionate about entertainment. Samsung is well-positioned to meet UHD demand with our new beautifully designed, feature-packed and future-ready Smart TVs.”

Samsung has not yet announced a price or release date for its model, however, according to Mashable, LG’s super-sized device will be hitting the shelves at $69,999.
