Newspaper Society Claims More National Advertisers Should Go Local

The Newspaper Society has launched a series of case studies to demonstrate the effectiveness of using the regional press in national advertising and marketing campaigns.

The first four reports cover Telewest Communications, Barclays, Ikea and Woburn Safari Park and how regional press helped improves the groups’ profiles, status and business.

Chris Fry, head of marketing communications at Telewest, commented: “When executed well, regional press allows an association with the local community, enabling a client to develop a unique and credible personality at grass roots level.”
