MindShare Opens For Business

MindShare Opens For Business

Global advertising and marketing group, WPP, has officially launched its UK MindShare division today. The company opens its Strand office doors with £450 million of UK business.

MindShare offers clients a number of in-house brands and expertises in media planning and buying; MindShare digital, for instance, provides knowledge on new media; Vision 40 offers sponsorship services and so on.

MindShare will also tap into WPP’s sister companies to provide greater effectiveness for clients.

Janine Abrahams, marketing director, says: “MindShare is entering the market at a time when media has become the major force driving the world wide communications industry; it is one of the factors at the top of the agenda for advertising agency networks and advertisers alike.”

However, the launch has not gone without glitch, as Mike Wood, MindShare’s deputy managing director, last week left the company before it had even opened (see MindShare Deputy MD Leaves Before The Business Opens).

MindShare was formed by the merger of the media arms of Olgivy & Mather and JWT, both sisters to WPP Group, last year (see WPP Buy Buchanan And Create Mindshare).
