Knowledge TV To Cease UK Broadcast

Cable channel Knowledge TV will cease its broadcast on 6 June 1998, and will close its London office affecting six full-time employees.

The channel’s parent company, US-based Jones Education Company, has announced that its European broadcast will be terminated in order to focus on its syndication efforts in countries such as China, Japan, Canada, Brazil and Argentina.

According to latest ITC data Knowledge TV availability in the UK had dropped to just 37,000 broadband cable homes by January 1998.
