England v Tunisia Gains BBC 80% Audience Share
According to unofficial overnight figures, the BBC’s screening of England versus Tunisia on Monday gained an audience share of 79.6% (Individuals), the highest share of viewing so far in the competition. However, fewer people watched the England match, in-home, than the opening game between Brazil and Scotland: 10.8 million compared with 11.8 million.
Once again BARB figures only provide information for in-home viewing; it is estimated that a further 7 million or so watched the England match out of home, in the pub. The same probably applies to most World Cup match viewing.
Brazil-Scotland gained a TVR for Men of 28.1 and for Women of 16.3. England-Tunisia received a TVR for Men of 26.0, and for Women of 19.6 – the highest TVR for women so far.
ITV gained its largest audience for Jamaica versus Croatia – 10.2 million in-home viewers, a TVR for Men of 25.3 and for Women of 15.5. ITV’s share of viewing for this match for Individuals was 42.6%.
ITV is averaging a TVR for Men of 18.3, and for Individuals of 12.8 so far in the competition. It is averaging an in-home audience for Individuals of 7 million, and share of viewing of 42%. Average share of viewing for the BBC stands at around 50% and audience (Individuals) stands at 8.6 million average.
