New Look For Woman’s Realm

New Look For Woman’s Realm

IPC Magazines is introducing a new look for its 40 year-old women’s weekly title Woman’s Realm in a bid to halt its falling circulation. Since 1986 the magazine has seen its sales fall from 613,000 to just over 230,000.

The redesign, aimed at differentiating the magazine from its competitors, includes a new logo and cover design plus a “radical” redesign of the editorial pages with more emphasis on feature material. The cover-price will increase from 57p to 60p.

Editor Kathy Watson comments: “Our research has confirmed that the average 40-something woman has entered a new lifestage. For many, the children have left home, their dominant mother role is less central to their lives and they now have a renewed self interest…The new look Woman’s Realm will have a mature tone, offer a more intelligent read and more importantly, will reflect these readers’ new roles in life.”

The new-look goes on sale April 22 and will be backed by extensive retail schemes and a sampling campaign within Woolworths, Superdrug and Richards Shops stores.
