The Scottish Media Group has confirmed that it has held talks with BSkyB with a view to securing rights to broadcast Scottish football after the end of this season.
Although the Media Group said that ‘no formal approach’ had been reached with BSkyB, it made clear its desire to bring football coverage to viewers in Scotland on terrestrial TV and at a ‘reasonable’ price.
SMG also admitted that it was too early in the process to guarantee that any agreement will be reached. The Media Group said that no formal approach had been made to representatives of the Scottish Premier League.
