Tindle Newspapers Takes Control Of The Beach

The Local Radio Company (TLRC) has announced the transfer of its 103.4 The Beach station to Tindle Newspapers.

Tindle Newspapers was a founder of Radio Investments Ltd. (RIL) which already controls TLRC. TLRC’s chief executive Chris Carnegy said: “We were delighted that Sir Ray [Tindle] expressed interest in The Beach. TLRC is proud of the station’s achievements, and would have been reluctant to see the station pass into a third party’s hands.”

The Beach’s most recent RAJAR figure showed the station achieves a weekly reach of 39,000 listeners from a potential audience of 143,000.

Tindle Newspapers has also acquired Guernsey-based Island FM from TLRC after it made an offer for the station earlier this month (subscribers see Regional Newspaper Group Bids For Island FM).
