National Newspaper Round-Up – June 1998
Total broadsheet circulation for this period was down 1.6% to 5.7 million copies – a loss of 94,000 copies for January-June 1998. The only paper to show a significant increase in this period was, once again, the Financial Times.
In the mid market the Mail titles continue to prosper at the expense of the Express titles.
The popular market’s decline continues for this period with overall circulation falling by 861,982 copies. Every paper reports a loss in circulation, particularly the Daily Star and the Sunday People.
