The Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television (PACT) and the PPA have announced their joint commitment to encouraging the production of masthead programmes.
The first initiatives of their co-operation are two sessions designed to create more opportunities for publishers and independent production companies to work together and establish good practice in the new sector.
The first will be a seminar on the subject at the Magazines ’98 Conference in May and in June PACT will stage a Masterclass on masthead collaborations.
…The PPA is to launch a Scottish Publishers’ Council on 19 March following indications of interest from publishers in Scotland. The Council’s main agenda is to promote Scottish magazine publishing and its first step will be to research the economic impact of the magazine industry in Scotland. This research will then be presented to ad agencies at a press conference in April.
