Sports Illustrated Gears up For Launch

Highbury House Communications is preparing to launch the UK version of one of the world’s largest-selling annual magazines – the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

The UK edition, which will appear on April 2 1998, is aimed at 18-35 year olds with an expected male/female split 70/30. With a cover price of £2.95, it will be perfect bound, A4 and printed on high gloss paper.

In the US the parent title, Sports Illustrated, has an average weekly circulation of 3.15 million.

Nick Randolph, the publisher at Highbury, commented: “It’s an exclusive and stylish read…We are very pleased with the reception the magazine is receiving from advertising agencies…We will be supporting the launch with a significant below-the-line campaign and in-store promotion.”
