EU: Press Intrusion Debate

On 28 January in the European Parliament Roy Perry MEP (EPP, UK) called for fast action at an EU level and for formal discussions to take place on press intrusion and the role of European media. Perry noted that it was now five months since the issue of press intrusion had been referred to an EP Committee following the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. Perry asked the President of the Parliament to find out what had happened in the committee; he said that action must be taken before the momentum for change was lost.
