EMAP Chief To Become Chairman Of PPA

Kevin Hand, chief executive of EMAP, has been installed as the new deputy chairman and chairman-elect of the Periodical Publishers Association (PPA). Hand will succeed current chairman Sally Cartwright when she stands down in 12 months’ time.

Hand was previously a director at the PPA, until he moved to France five years ago. During this time he chaired the marketing and public relations committee and served on the ABC council.

Commenting on the appointment Sally Cartwright, also publishing director of Hello magazine, says: “The decision of Kevin Hand to agree to be nominated as deputy chairman and chairman-elect is an important sign of commitment to the PPA and the industry, by one of the UK’s major publishers. Kevin is ideally placed to give magazine industry strong leadership in both consumer and business fields.”
