Global advertising companies Leo Group and MacManus have today confirmed that they are to merge their operations, forming a giant, global advertising network. Provisionally called BDM, the merged group will command annual revenues of over $1.7 billion (£1.0 billion). As part of the deal, Asia’s largest advertising agency, Dentsu, will take around a 20% holding in BDM.
The MacManus group owns the Mediavest media agency and the Leo Group operates the Leo Burnett network of agencies which in turn incorporates the Starcom media service brand. Leo Burnett also has a 49% stake in London-based advertising agency, Bartle Bogle Hegarty.
The combined company will have around 16,000 employees across the world.
