Thinkbox has announced that appointment of Channel 5’s head of planning and insight, Matt Hill, as its new research and planning director.
Reporting to the company’s chief executive, Lindsey Clay, Hill will be responsible for Thinkbox’s research and planning teams, as well as taking a seat on the Thinkbox board. He takes over from Neil Mortensen, who is leaving Thinkbox to become director of planning and research at ITV.
Commenting on the appointment, Clay said: “Matt is perfect for the role so we’re delighted he is joining us. We had an exceptionally high calibre of applicants but Matt’s passion, insight and experience stood out.
“Research and planning are critical to what Thinkbox does and we’re proud of the reputation we have built. Matt is the ideal person to take this into the future.”
Hill added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Thinkbox at this exciting time. TV is offering audiences their best ever viewing experience, and continuing to enable advertisers to emotionally connect with them on an unrivalled scale.
“However, the lure of short-term, easily countable media has made the role of Thinkbox more important than ever. I can’t wait to continue their great work, demonstrating TV’s unique ability to build long term return on investment for brands.”
Prior to joining Channel 5 in 2006, Hill held roles at Virgin Media and Attentional. He will join Thinkbox in early 2015.
