Freesat launches new children’s on-demand player

Freesat has become the first platform to launch children’s on-demand player, ‘Hopster’, offering a range of new content alongside 10 existing children’s-dedicated TV channels.

Available on Freetime for £3.99 a month, Hopster will provide “popular shows in a fun, safe and visually engaging environment,” with Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, Super WHY!, Babar, Paddington Bear, Bob the Builder and Angelina Ballerina available at launch.

Commenting on the move, Nick Walters, Hopster’s CEO, said: “Our mission is to make screen time better for kids – and the TV is still the number one screen in many family homes. Freesat provides an amazing experience to its customers through Freetime, and we’re really excited about adding to its stellar line-up with the Hopster app.

“Freetime families can now access all the best shows on-demand in a completely safe, ad-free environment.”

Customers who sign up in the first month from launch will be eligible for a 30 day free trial.
