Sky Business Appoints Arcom To Handle £3m Account

BSkyB announced today that it has appointed Arcom Communications to handle the £3 million advertising account for Sky Business. The service, which is aimed at the broadcasting company’s commercial customers, is due to launch in September (see Sky Offers Free Digital Satellite To Pubs).

At present BSkyB has 40,000 business customers mostly drawn from the pubs and clubs sector and the service will be tailored for their needs with business programming and interactive training applications. The company is also looking at other industry areas for further development.

Arcom will be managing all advertising and marketing and the newly-formed agency, which was previously known as the Arc Group, has been specifically chosen for its range of services which includes e-commerce, design and direct marketing. BSkyB’s commercial marketing director Iain Holden said: “We needed an agency that challenged us, stimulated us and could get on with us … Arcom Communications’ multi-disciplined approach fits that brief.”
