  • Two financial titles aimed at those who need to be educated about money matters have launched this week. Perspective Publishing’s Real Money will publish each month and take a wry and “non-patronising” look at finance. Priced at £2.50, it is aimed at the Loaded audience and hopes to sell around 30,000 copies.

    Shares, published by MSM Magazines, is aimed at more experienced investors and younger people who are entering the financial market for the first time. Initial print run for this weekly publication will be between 80,000 and 95,000.

  • Regional Independent Media’s Yorkshire Post Newspapers has launched a new local guide for Leeds. Called Absolute Leeds, the monthly publication is aimed at the 20-35 age group and will include listings for the city as well as celebrity interviews and lifestyle articles. Its initial print run is 15,000 and its distribution points include cafe bars and restaurants as well as newsagents.
  • HMV has launched its own music magazine targetting the growing interest in the specialist music market. A bi-monthly publication, HMV Choice will cover classical, jazz, folk, easy listening and original soundtracks and its initial 100,000 print run will be distributed throughout HMV’s 120 stores.
  • A new internet magazine is about to be launched by Freeway Press. Crazynet describes itself as an “Internet lifestyle” title which concentrates on the entertainment value of the Net rather than its technical aspects. It aims at combining the wit of lads mags with the weirdness of Bizarre and the net know-how of Wired. Launching on October 6, its initial print run of 70,000 is expected to settle between 30,000 and 35,000.
